  4. Depends on the chemical, there is a list I have seen that is approved by the EA and MAFF, but along time since and no memory of it. Rock salt? ok for medium/large stumps, and not spraying PA6 is knapsack application as you deducted. If non strayed application I presume just PA1 would be sufficient?
  5. I agree with you up to this point. Why use a fundamentally flawed system system to inaccuratley put an arbitary figure on something that requires the application of common sense and a structured assesment?
  6. I fecking hate to read things such as this. Sorry to hear Nod, will keep an eye out
  7. Welcome Nick, post away, the more the merrier
  8. I have owned a few harneses, all different and had there own merits. What have you climbed on previously Giles?
  9. AA, OCA,ISA the list is endless, the consultants perpetuate the problem, it is the precidents set in the past. The money involved in subsidance claims, the consultation and subsiquent tree work must bankroll massive sectors of our industry
  10. Such a relevant point to felling the tree?
  11. H&S aside, I think it poses a larger question, or am I being too insightful?
  12. Hopefully the verdict in the appeal case of Perrin vs Northampton council will have bareing on future decisions such as this. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=840 (although i have only highlighted the negatives in this thread) The continuation of litigeous claims by the general puplic will only drive these profit driven companies into further risk reducing actions. sign of the times i guess, sad.
  13. Being from an Irish family and celebrating St Pats rather than St georges day, it has always dissapointed me that the english seldom celebrate there nation day. I understand the flag issues, but if i was in that position i would do my best to reclaim it, as it is nothing to do with colour etc but a statement of where you belong.
  14. Nice Reg. You deffo earn your keep on trees like that
  15. Especially the front axel weight with the hiab fitted
  16.
  17. Who me?

  20. saying that waiting til it's in full leaf could give you a more accurate picture
  21. it is a typical symptom. i'd not wait too long to either reduce heavily or fell. the deterioration can be rapid
  22. If all the kit is new, then it is deemed to be tested
  23. are the leaves chlorotic and is there apical die back and seperation/splitting of the bark from the timber due to cambium death yet? edit ah ok more pics. I would be suprised if it did recover as it looks quite advanced, but as Bob said some do
  24. trust you to not only notice, but to freeze frame and note the time:scared: I do worry about you mr Bullman:wave:
  25. that i always see as irresponsable behavior unless there is noone or nothing below them
