  1. Mr Bish, look at the wider considerations as Ed Points out. How does anyone legislate or protect idiots and the foolhardy?
  2. Your point are more than relevant Linda. The working enviroment does effect how an individual works. You rarely get reckless individuals in a safety orientated company and vice versa. The culture of work may be a large component of many accidents
  3. It is a deceptive harness Mac. Not the best by any standards but suits some well. You going to try to go to the AA show?
  4. It is quite a good harness, and I have spent many hours sitting in one. (G 7REE have you seen the amount of padding on the legs of a treemotion?) I would try it on before you buy any harness. Some just do not fit diferent body types and everyone's geometry is different. Is there a local supplier?
  5. You have not always got away with it though. Neither have I
  6. I wonder if accidents by experianced users are a combination of complacency and probability? If you push the boundaries/take risks daily, then eventually the dice might throw you a less than desirable score. Just a point of discussion more than a theory
  7. The Mountain depot don't half put a mark-up on there kit. I hope you have not been sourcing your kt there Bill.
  8. I'd be interested in the w/yorks course
  9. I was told to find a turd and place it in the litter tray, and scent it like Dean sujested. Cats for all there other faults and fickle habits are clean
  10. lol short and sweet, I enjoyed that!
  11. I'm sure allowances can be made, you look old enough:)
  12. [ame] [/ame] It was one of RB Trees jobs, Wiley_P was brought in to do the felling. Some better clips at the end of this one [ame] [/ame]
  13. [ame] [/ame] Why we should not take our procedures for granted!
  14. If that was footlocking then i have the tact and inteligance of Dean!
  15. pmsl i remember that, you squeeled like little miss muffet in a bath of spiders. you shot it afterall, thought you would have liked a trophy
  16. Has anyone had experience of making a successful claim against an individual or company (employer) ? If so could they explain the grounds for there action (pm if you do not want to disclose it on the public forum)
  17. On the third pic, were you not worried about getting your hand trapped. It appears to be inline with the falling timber. Nice work by the way
  18. I can't believe you don't have a black AND a gold one Peter. Shame on you
  19. Must not have been big enough as i can't remember:wave:
  20. plunge cuts are very limiting, if the wood is brittle or there are cavities you can find yourself in a very dangerous and difficult position as the hinge is set poorley with no chance of compensating for the problem
  21. So even if the "employer" had no input to the accident, they could stilll be financially liable for lost earnings and compensation?
  22. I would seek expert advice personally. These situations, from the little i know of them are complex to say the least. As was stated earlier, as far as the H&S are concerned he was an employee at the time therefore putting the duty of care upon you.
  23. I had forgotten about him. I may have upset him a few years ago when I said I gave all my timber away free and he could not have any:)
  24. you forgot the and the
  25. haha or just buy him the cheap wine- saving the best for yourself of course. Enjoy Nick
