nope......my anchor point was way above me...then i had a second rope round something more sensible on a different stem at all times. then of course my lanyard for general work positioning. the high anchor points werent half bowing though at times:001_rolleyes:

how far in and how high up will the chipper blow chips into the trailer stevie?

horrible oak reduction this morning.......reducing the regrowth. the anchor points were particularly spindly and somewhat dodgy so i used 2 ropes.

bear in mind, you can take out limited employers liability(thats probably not the correct term so dont phone up and ask for that), like i have.......i am a freelance climber but do the odd job here and there where i need help........i have a policy that covers me for employing a man for up to 50 days of the year. this could save you quite a bit of money to start off with

you'll be back to the the stihl reg! i had a few issues with the husky which have mostly been mentioned...but the thing that used to nark me more than anything was how small the fuel tank was....even on small trees id have to send it down for refills half way through

one had a ganoderma bracket that i spotted, other than that they were pretty clean.

no idea....no way of guessing in their condition either...couldn't even make a guestimate based on the estate either as thats years old

Ok, title might be slightly misleading.....as these Limes were pollarded too late in life anyway, hence the decay. I started this job 4 years ago, selecting the worst trees to re-pollard first so as to leave some form of an avenue remaining. 6 werent even worth considering saving and were felled and replanted. Went back this week to finish the remaining trees. Sorry no before pics....the trees had on average about 30ft of growth, in various states of decline. The trees pollarded in the first cycle have put on a decent amount of growth in the past 4 years so hopefully they should hang on for a few more years to come

i have one and i think its a great saw....although a standard shop floor model i found to be very sluggish. i changed from 3/8th ti 3/25 pitch with a 9 tooth sprocket....this transformed the saw completely.

Hi, thanks for posting. Beings as there are already sponsors offering stihl equipment on arbtalk, and the fact that they have to abide by stihls mail order/internet sales policy, it would clearly be unfair for me to allow this. thanks

did you notice if any of the longer established companies were still in there? a lot that i know of have cottoned on to yellow pages and are scaling down their adverts, if not cancelling completely

as a freelance climber ive tackled the odd job in the past where ive stated i wouldnt be responsible, but theres been exceptional conditions...ie exceptionally delicate targets coupled with wet/windy conditions.
