  1. Great pics Sean, thanks for sharing
  2. Heck!! Bet he was swearing at you something chronic!!!
  3. I once worked with a guy who had filled out the risk assessment. When I got up the tree I noticed something on the far side of the bridge wall that the tree was overhanging, turned out to be a gas main. I asked why he hadn't added it to the risk assessment, his reply was 'I didn't see it as a risk' If theres a mishap that you didnt 'forsee' on the risk assessment, you can be sure that H&S, the insurance companies and anyone else, won't see that as a valid excuse!
  4. Mostly yes, and I believe most companies just use a generic form
  5. 10 days left guys, anyone got a favourite piece of equipment they want to write about?
  6. may be trying to stay on your home wife but the signal isn't strong enough, but the wifi is also blocking 3g/4g. I get that often and just disable wifi on my phone
  7. May be my age but lately I have done some silly little things and been fortunate enough to get away with them. Just 2 days ago I was rigging an Ash tree. Nothing too major. wrapped an x-ring a couple times round the stem to rig off and proceeded to rig a few bits....then I noticed that although I had wrapped around the trunk I had not actually fed the xring through the eye on the other end of the sling to choke it. Essentially all that was holding it in place was a small bite, thankfully I had not been rigging anything bigger. What silly mistakes have you made and got away with lately?
  8. That looks great, what you got planned for it?
  9. I’m a freelance climber, I don’t get to pick jobs!
  10. Past my best. I could climb for another 10 years till my body is literally falling apart, or I could stop now and hopefully still be able bodied enough to run around with my grandchildren if I’m lucky enough to have them one day
  11. I wish I could afford to reitire lol. Retirement from climbing at the first possible opportunity
  12. A lot of it is about placement also. I will often take it out before descending if its convenient to, ie on reductions when I have gone back up to my TIP to do the final cuts.
  13. Very rarely but it happened! My pulley saver gets stuck more than my Art ropeguide ever did. I would buy a ropeguide again if I intended climbing much longer(and wasn't so tight)
  14. Not at all, looked a run of the mill cypress, dense green foliage
  15. In my experience this sort of work is most commonly found in churches and graveyards where the local parish members have offered their 'services' to the church for free
  16. Quite deep cuts made into this tree during Ivy removal some time ago, was interesting to see how a softwood species has dealt with it
  17. I think Dr Humphries is having a lay in
  18. Image broke, do you still have it spud?
  19. Anyone got a fix/hack for this? Mine popped out for the 3rd time today.
