  1. Got a few sites that might be of use think you have to pay at this one youll need to confirm the chips hops aren’t poisonous of a couple of those
  2. Andy gentle suffolk tree services i sub to them so can naturally vouch for their professionalism and high standards ?
  3. hell mate, sorry to hear that. Did the lapper topple or what?
  4. Is 40 too old? Depends who you ask. Theres plenty of climbers on this forum well into their late 40's, even 50's. Me, im 41, have been climbing 21 years. I'm retiring from climbing the end of this month. Could I go on for another 10 years? Sure, but i'd probably end up a total cripple, thats wht i'm pre-empting it while i'm still in relatively good shape.
  5. `not due in part to your company being well known in the area and having a good reputation don't you think?
  6. You will always get that, by and large people don't like seeing other people succeed
  7. pah!!! you're all of 32-33??
  8. I'm gonna go out on a limb here from the little you've posted and say that you probably work for a well established company, run by a business minded person who is charging good money for a professional service and has a good number of contacts/clients. Unless you are particularly talented, it takes time to get to that stage. In the interim you're going to be competing with all the bottom feeders who are charging next to nothing, and with established client base of your own you're going to having to price competitively pretty much 100% of the time to start off
  9. Theres easier ways to make money....a lot of easier ways
  10. buy new? yes if I was sitting on 50k. I have been down the old knackered truck route and aside from costing you money in repairs it costs you way more in down time and disgruntled customers. This is coming from someone who can just about change a spark plug at a push. perhaps if you are more mechanically minded a worn out piece of crap is a viable option
  11. In answer to your actual question though, truck and chipper..I would buy brand new, present a nice clean image. I would get both these on 0% finance but put the value of them into a savings account to fall back on. There would be more than enough left over to buy the extra saws you need to start out. Anything else you need price it into the work and buy it as you need it
  12. Theres a lot I could think to do with 50k, and starting a tree company would be pretty much at the bottom of the list.
  13. So far should add my work is mostly aerial though, don’t exactly go wading through puddles and wet mud in woods
  14. Thats what I have at the moment, have no complaints. Im about 6 months in with them now
  15. Never come across it. Could be a good idea though if the price is right. I would imagine you will end up with masses of leylandii though
  16. You should be able to in my opinion, but I highly doubt you actually could. Thats a bit of a bum deal though if that actually happened to you
  17. never heard or seen it done. Got links to any vids?
  18. the wood is Yew, and no function, at least nothing the customer used it for.
  19. Customer bought this out to show us yesterday. We were trying to decide what took would have been used to hollow it out?
  20. Wrapping it up Shortly along with the other comp, soon as I get a minute to breath
  21. Stay tuned for ‘in desperate times my steroids saved the day’ ?
