  1. How to run a tree business I've worked for many firms over the years. In the early years some of them I thought were charging extortionate rates, now I realise their rates were quite realistic. They are running good viable businesses and living comfortable lives whilst the rest are out there running round like brainless idiots for pennies. Theres not enough education into running a tree business, its pretty much 100% focused on the practical side which is why we have the situation we have, an underpaid industry fighting over scraps
  2. how did you manage that? one day?
  3. The missus seems to think i'll be watching it with her...I think i'll be busy working on the computer Class photo
  4. I’d wait for the 500i, although not knowing the price makes the decision harder
  5. They definitely last well. Mine was a good 11 years old and was still going strong. Unfortunately some idiots decided to leave it on site so I had to replace it
  6. Actually the old software stored online users in the cache for a lot longer so it wasn't really an accurate accurate figure...but yeah, there were certainly more
  7. Surprising to hear. The one thing i liked about the 201 over the 200 is its improved reliability. Mine were never in the shop. If you want something a little more old school that you can tune perhaps look at the Echo
  8. What are you using now?
  9. well how the industry is regulated should take about 5 seconds! Not very helpful, will post something more helpful after dinner
  10. They do an even finer one which is great on really small prunes...lot more work though
  11. Anyone used the wayback machine? Its interesting to look back at sites you frequent. I had forgotten what the old Arbtalk looked like https://web.archive.org/web/20160314212003/http://arbtalk.co.uk:80/forum/ And further back still to May 2008 https://web.archive.org/web/20080502035854/http://www.arbtalk.co.uk:80/forum
  12. Yes loads. I certainly didn't sign up for their service either. This is the one place where GDPR is good
  13. oh and yes, the cutting attachment pivots
  14. I wouldnt go for that one. This is the kit you need, slightly over budget https://www.worldofwolf.co.uk/categories/multi-change-tools/bundle-deals/product/wolf-garten-ultimate-tree-care-kit/ZMV4-REPM-RCVM-RGM-ZSM~ZMV4-REPM-RCVM-RGM-ZSM Or this one on ebay within budget but with the shorter pole https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wolf-Garten-Tree-Lopper-Bundle-Handle-Lopper-Cord-Tidy-RRP-116-97-/162949396166
  15. Used the wolf for about 12 years. They are good value for money and the lopper attachment leaves a good clean cut. Try and get the bypass one if you can, although they are hard to find. Also invest in the cord tidy, makes a world of difference https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wolf-Garten-ZSM-Multi-Change-Cord-Tidy/263530819305?epid=12016400922&hash=item3d5ba92ee9:g:rwsAAOSwQSNam9rP
  16. if they are anything like the ones on my navara then I can attest to that
  17. Perfect jobs! Now all you need is a fire and a nice bloody steak
  18. Used to run matadors on my old bus. Got a feeling they stopped doing them though?
