MS200T running like forest gump in his leg braces

MS200T running crap, will idle for a bit then occassionally will start idiling irratically, revs up and down but not enough to run the chain, then stalls its-self. also if i pull the throttle trigger too quickly it will either take a second at a deeper tone like the chain-brakes on, then rev up or will stall-need to apply throttle slowly to prevent this

air and fuel filters fine, stripped/cleaned/rebuilt carb, checked spark plug, retuned it/fiddled with tuning and now stumped to what to do!

any ideas?

it has had 2 years of hard use, so maybe its times up? may have to take a trip to jonsies at the AA! then again my 020 is 10years old and still going strong

what about the wee breathe on the petrol tank, i think they are the cause of a lot of top handles problems

do a compression test they tend to over heat around the exsust port & pick up on the piston & barrel thus losing compo

Check the carb again see if it has the plastic bung pressed into the face of the carb, if it has it is most likely sucking air through there it is factory fitted so not repairable.

Another common one especially on the top handled saws, due to them being used a lot at all angles and bashed about etc etc, is the crankcase seals. Two years hard use....I should tap Jonesie up at the aa fair mate, and retire that one.

Air leak somewhere, as already said dodgy carb, seals or could be the rubber boot from carb to cylinder or the little rubber pipe next to it.

or is it down to the heat

some saws more than others are affected by heat and keep them cool and keep you fuel container in the shade does make a difference

but i would look towards talking to a dealer about carb issues as they had a period of fault carbs mine has just had a new carb all under waranty and its a few years old

will an old 020 carb fit the MS200? got a few 020s kicking around to try

does porting keep them cooler then? the 10yr old 020 is ported and an animal!
