Anyone fancy a trip across to Sweden next year ?

see Scandinavia?s leading venue for the future forestry | Elmia

This Forestry/Arb/Wood exhibition had 33,000 plus visitors to the last one in 2007.

How about an Arbtalkers on tour trip ? we may be able to get decent rates for a large group. The live demo's are apparently everywhere over a huge site and worth seeing.

Would be a chance to see many different methods and products not available/used often in the UK.

The Husky factory is close by as well, i wonder if they would accomodate a tour for a few hours ?

The BIG ONE Elmea Wood show is in 2013 at the same place.

Went to Elmia last year and it is a fantastic show. We were in the show for 2 whole days from 8.30am till 5.30pm and still did not see everything we wanted to. It makes APF look like a village fete and everything is being shown working, from an axe to a new 1000horsepower wood chipper. Went to apf this year but will not go again. You would not regret a trip out there and if you could do the Husky factory aswell it would be a fantastic trip. Start saving up now though coz its very expensive!!

Quite like the idea of that myself.

Thanks for the heads up Les :thumbup1:

Tobias, is this anywhere near you?

.

Deponds on what you compare to :sneaky2: I'ts a 490 mile roundtrip...but I would be down in a flash if you came over! It could be the first proper international Arbtalk gettogether... 2 trials have worked out fine so far!:thumbup1:

The fair is in the southern part of Sweden. There is a great forest with really old pine and spruce trees (150-300 years old) and a known place for Phellinus ferrugineofuscus...nothing spectacular but still...I haven been there myself but there are some good forests within trevelling distance..
