Can someone shed some light on why people go to these lengths to convert a 365 ?

Surely it would be better just to of bought a 372 in the first place if the 365 performance isn't adequate and 372 performance is what you want.

The 372 is about 150 quid dearer and mechanically its the same saw other than the restricted transfers and the intake boot is slightly different due to higher vibes on extended use by professionals

In light of that - a tach tune to 500rpm below max spec may be wise to make sure the mod doesn't screw with the max revs!

I am not an expert, but would assume it is best to tune it right, regardless where that is in relation to the listed max rpm?

The early 372 did not have the split induction tube, but the later X Torque machine certainly does, as Spud has said it is part of the strato charge system.

The xt versions have a carb with a larger venturi than the older versions, hopefully the intake is wider as well, to compensate for the divider?

So for 150 quid more just buy a 372 and save all the time , cost and messing about modding a 365. Not to mention invalidating any warranty.

well yes if you have the funds its fine , but lots of us like playing with them , warranty fair enough , but most times scoring or cylinder damage is rarely warrantyied as its claimed to be bad fuel, wrong oil, not enough oil, operator error blah blah

Coz for a small amount of work you end up with a 372Xtorque for 365 money .
