Has anybody ever seen or worked with this wood. I had never heard of it, as a turner there must be a reason why it is not used.

Eucalyptus deglupta .....it tends to be a tropical species.....some of the photos I see, I wonder whether Photoshop has had an effect.

 

And it has been planted as an exotic plantation tree but not in the UK.

I understand it's just the bark that is coloured. As a wood it might not actually be that special.

the bark may be stunning but the wood is as plain as any normal eucalyptus.

That explains why I never heard of it. Cool bark though.

I saw some in Costa Rica. Definitely not as vibrant colours as in those pictures but sill pretty special to see and no mistaking them.

i believe that the pictures are taken right after it rains to give the colours more vibrants...

Question is, how will it look if growing in SE England.

I'd love to have one but not worth it if it looks like a Gunnii.
