Ive just recently brought a 372xp and currently have pair of class 1 trousers I'm unsure if they will provide good enough protection for the new saw.

What are people's feelings regarding this? Would I be best off up grading to a pair of class 2s??

Thanks in advance

Yeah, why risk it? Give the old trousers to a friend who never heard of chainsaw protection, and show him/her some internet photos of injuries to frighten him into using them.

:Edited: - hah! Just checked mine and they are class 1 as well! Looks like the auld piggy bank is due a hammering soon...

The difference is only 4 meters per second, class 1 being 20 meters per second class 2 being 24 meters per second but id rather have class 2 for peace of mind.

Its what id recommend

Just checked my trousers...class 1:blushing:

I aint buying more trousers..

Id still say class 2 for better safety though

I wonder if the length of the bar/number of teeth has any influence? More teeth = takes longer to bind up the sprocket = more possibility of running out of fibres and sustaining injury? Why would chain speed have any effect at all, does the chain actually cut some of the fibbers if its moving fast enough?
