Unimogs are good for arb BUT it's no good buying a cheap one !

28k + Minimum I would say having owned two and I would speak to Alec Price.

Do you 'want' a Unimog or do you 'need' a Unimog ? I bought mine because my yard had awful access, I did alot of small scale clearance work, and I already had a PTO chipper.

IMO look at trucks instead for domestic arb work, a well thought out 12 ton wagon is a much better bet than a Unimog specially with a 9-12" chipper behind :)

thats good advice i would much rather have my set up i got at the moment my 6.5 tone merc vario and the landy 130 tipper but may be have a bigger chipper i do mostly back garden work and a small amount of LA work. The running cost of a landrover v unimog you cant compare the unimog will or could break you cost wise. Landrover parts are peanuts compared to mog parts. If you where to go for that green mog they are a pain to load wood into as they are so high imo.

I ran one doing Over Head Lines. It worked in that application but they can be ruinously expensive. Greenmech front mounted a chipper on one for Glendales - it went to work in London and the bosses wondered why it never got used! Look at what work your doing most of, can it (and the running costs) fit into the budget whilst increasing your margin or could you manage with Landrovers or other 4x4 vehicles.

Pay your money and make your choice!
