Single sided hedge cutters

Hi I'm after some new cutters

I've narrowed it down to either

Husqvarna 226HS75S

Or Stihl hs87r

 

Has any one used either or both or have any other suggestions?

im a husky man through and through, but i always have stihl hedgecutters,

husky my self been gamy handed single sided dos not work for me also in a awkward spot you will need to change hands to get in to do the job

Not troubled by single sided as I have double sided hs82r.

I want them as the blades are longer and are better I think on the longer taller hedges.

I have echo single sided at the minute but they are getting old.

Still can't beat the old robin hedge cutters for cut quality. These are now sold as dolmar/makita and will be my next purchase. I just actually out my old robin in for service and repair, hoping to get a little more life out of it as I do very little hedge cutting these days

Ive used the stihl hs86r,theyre ok for most jobs.They

WONT give you a nice crisp finish on a conifer hedge though

Agree - 86r good for cutting down overgrown hedges will go through upto an inch,if no one will see the rough cuts at the top its ok

 

just got the 87t with 40" blades best finish on conifer and privet- much prefer it to the long reach

I have a couple of stihl 82r 30" bar. Good for getting material off, not neat. The T version would be better for neat.

I'm thinking of the 40 inch for wide hedge tops.

I struggle with the long reach cutters weight wise if I'm honest when hold horizontal.

So I'm thinking 40 inch plus my reach will deal with most tops.

I've only git 3 hedges that would need the t version I think and I can use what I have for those.

 

Would the r be ok for tops you don't really see?
