Still can't beat the old robin hedge cutters for cut quality. These are now sold as dolmar/makita and will be my next purchase. I just actually out my old robin in for service and repair, hoping to get a little more life out of it as I do very little hedge cutting these days

I have a couple of stihl 82r 30" bar. Good for getting material off, not neat. The T version would be better for neat.

 

 

I'm thinking of the 40 inch for wide hedge tops.

I struggle with the long reach cutters weight wise if I'm honest when hold horizontal.

So I'm thinking 40 inch plus my reach will deal with most tops.

I've only git 3 hedges that would need the t version I think and I can use what I have for those.

 

Would the r be ok for tops you don't really see?
