Aint necessarily so eggs,i would charge less for grounding than climbing.

Although it would vary according to the individual involved

Why?, it's a days work (let's not forget that we are Tradesmen). That day will cost you £xxx. Why would it matter what you are doing?

It's different if I'm using my own gear that gets charged on top, but labour only is the same rate whatever I'm doing.

It's not a race to the bottom.

They really earn it Mick, I expect production & targets to be met. This industry has become too reliant on the "climber", It is a team that works best in my opinion.

I do not place a higher value on anyone on the site. A good groundie will have a different skill set to a climber & it is with shared hard work & the combination of both that jobs get done quickly, efficiently & without unnecessary stress.

You must be short of a few brain cells to not charge more or physical labour of being deep down in a hole as you say. Or you must just get away with charging a good whack whilst out with your clipboard.

I think it's the other way round. Charge good money when you are doing physical labour, which in turn, turns out as money for old rope when doing easy work....... Are you still with me?

I see what you are saying but there's no chance it would work with 90% of the companies up here

If I was to ring you and ask your day rate as a subbie what would the answer be?

I had a lad from Arbtalk take down a tree for me a while back, he told me what his day rate was and we had a deal, I'm pretty sure if I said it was dragging brash his day rate wouldn't have been any less.

Rate for dragging would have been climbing rate plus 25% because its lots easier sending it down than dragging it. :laugh1::laugh1:
