If it was for an electric one, my sthil one has been brilliant for the 8 years ive had it. But if i was looking for a petrol one, i personally would be looking at the clarke range in machine mart.

Stihl used to be good because they were Nilfisks, Stihl are now making there own and I have heard their first attempts are not great so probably need a few years to iron out the bugs in the build.

If it's Electric then Nilfisk are hard to beat the E150/145 are good upper end domestic machines Nilfisk E145.3-10 H X-tra Pressure Washer - Black Cyber 2015 - CleanStore

I bought a Karcher K5, it has a 5 year warranty and is fine but for the same money I could of had a Nilfisk which is a better product.

Draper also do a pretty reasonable petrol pressure washer for £500 ish very powerful.

As for traffic film, yes a hot wash is superior but a good traffic film remover (buy it in bulk 25ltr) applied with a pressure sprayer will sort most things out.

I fill an empty 25ltr container with warm water from my tap then suck it out through with my pressure washer, it's the poor mans hot wash.

There is a cheapie like b0d's one in my shed with a knackered pump on it. A new pump is about fifty quid on EBay. If you want it you can have it.

Thanks for the offer Eggs but I like to buy stuff new so if it does have an issue I can just take it back. Plus if I get one with a knackered pump it'll end up sitting in the yard collecting dust. Again appreciate the offer :-)

If you want to get trucks clean of traffic film etc you really need hot water.

I've got a karcher hds 601, secondhand for £600ish. Be careful with secondhand stuff though, they are susceptible to frost damage and can be expensive to repair.

Yeah I think I will just wash the truck down with hot soapy water and then the pressure washer is just to rinse. Maybe to blast the thick crap off the truck and chipper on muddy days. £600 is pushing the boat out a little to much.

I'll look in to nilfisk as I've heard good things about them. :-). Thinking about the petrol ones it's more cost on fuel and I doubt I'd use it enough away from the yard to justify it. I like the idea of the poor mans car wash though. :-)

My Nilfisk P150 puts works Karcher to shame, both have the same power but apart from seeming to have better performance the nilfisk is ergonomically far superior IMO. As I said earlier get one with a reel if you are going electric.

Thanks for the input. Yeah a reel does seem like the best solution to those annoying tangles.

I may be teaching you lot to suck eggs......that is an old mothers saying and not giving a well known Arbtalk member sexual relief.....but.....get a turbo lance!

It basically takes the needle jet that has the most cleaning effect and revolves it in a rapid figure of eight motion so you get a very high pressure fan shaped cleaning jet. It was invented by some foreign dude and is a ceramic jet that wobulates around its holder and turns a mediocre powerjet in to something that will rip moss off your block paving.

It won't clean the ingrained dirt off your car but will blast mud off your quad etc:thumbup:

Is that just a nozzle? Can that fit any pressure washer? I'm guessing it's kinda a universal jobby?
