Nice footage Tom

I take it you started with the top cause it was so badly decayed and you didnt want big dead bones falling on you as you took out the lower stuff? Sometimes you got to watch that when you drop those bigger pieces higher up they dont shockload the lower limbs too badly and cause root crown failure. Did the tree have honey fungus?

Looked like Oudemansiella mucida at 0.30.

Thanks for posting

Yeah Tim, it had died from the top down I definately didn't want to be underneath anything because the whole thing shook everytime I dropped a piece,a couple of the lower scafolds were still pretty green hence the splitting. The problem was directing the tops to miss the lower stuff was impossible, it just went where it wanted. I was happy with the base of the tree after all it had stood up to those winds we had last weekend ok. The scaffolds were huge, the pov makes them look thinner, the one that split at 6.30 was 19 metres long!

Good job Tom. Not sure the 200t is fast enough for heavy horizontals though

046 tastic on the big limbs for me, but obviously you did it the best way possible tom, i took the big one i did offsite for nothing for firewood, i just priced it to section but it was too good to leave to rot imo, it was spalted so dont tell the woodmizer guys, i split the huge rings with an maul, it was a doddle. nice one:thumbup1:
