Looking at getting some custom Damascus knives made in the future when money is available for Xmas presents, and it dawned on me it would be nice to utilise some of my nice spalted Holly, and or the Burr Yew I have.

I have found someone on the web, but thought I would ask here as well. Does anyone have experience in this field?

I have done a couple of handles a long ways back. Layered maple and ebony on the tang then lots of hand finishing and oil. Looked good though and a great way to use little off cuts of quality wood. I am no expert though.

Are you looking for someone who can stabilise scales that you already have. My bro in law uses a guy in our village to do scales for catapults. He uses a decompression chamber to impregnate them with resin

That's the kind of thing I'm looking for. Where abouts is your village?

Not a definite at this stage just costing out options. My boards are 2" so would be to be split to get a book match pair.

And this is the folding knife, but will be made with fire pattern Damascus steel.

And now possibly with my wood, other options are sheep horn, buffalo horn, camel bone or bull horn.

3" blade I think :thumbup1:

That is THE billie bollox . I have seen Damascus twist barrels on some guns . That knife is lovely .
