Didn't look at the link yet, was it the UK has 53% of our food supplies, the rest come from overseas?

I didn't think it stated an exact figure, but yes, under 60%.

It's worth listening to. The just-in-time system that our food supply works on is doomed as soon as there's any serious disruptions. We've got no storage any more, no communal larder. Some other countries do, like Scandi and Baltic states, for obvious reasons. Switzerland has enough stored to feed the whole population for three months, may be increased to twelve soon.

The levant is an old name for the Middle East I thought.

I wasn't going to complicate things by mentioning that!

A " lavant " is a winter born river . The village has one such river running through it . Hence the name . @sime42

Interesting. So is that a river that only flows during winter?

Would be great if they do implement something like this, but what a complete shower of pricks they were to have done everything possible to scupper the Rwanda deal and then cancel it outright before even trying it.

APPLE.NEWS

The Home Office is reportedly considering plans to send rejected asylum seekers to the western...

Basically a crock of shit with no deterrent value. Couple of bus loads straight from Dover to the airport and onwards to Rwanda would have seen the numbers crossing crash big time imo

Living standards for the poorest third are predicted to fall twice that of middle and high earners...

Whilst the left obsess over Trumps every move the reality is you can see, hear and feel this already over a wide range of income levels. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced the levels of pessimism and anxiety being expressed by self employed and small business owners at a governments actions prior to the current Labour administration, looks very like those at the lower end are gonna carry the can as usual. So much for growth and the old myth of labour being the party of the working class.

Tax the rich. Not the people who work hard and have £10 million stashed, the actual rich. Everything you need to understand is on this youtube channel:

No university education needed to comprehend these facts.

Or just keep shouting into the angry void.
