It was. It was something to do with ash dieback disease. The best bit was side-tracking the bee man, it's fascinating stuff they get up to.

When I was a young " oik " ( about 10 or 12 ) the shunting yard at West Gate in Chichester was awash with sugar beet . We used to collect a few up and stand on West Gate foot bridge and when a steam loco came under we tried to get one down the funnel . If successful a sugar beet would go into orbit ! A spiffing weeze 😁
