I've been looking at the Axminster trade series grinder. It's speed is 1425 rpm. It takes a 32mm wide wheel and has a 1 1/4" spindle so it's easier to get new wheels without using spacers. The cheap one I have has a 1/2" spindle and the wheel runs miles off true with them plastics spacers in

with the slow speed grinder what is the best speed to have at the tool tip?

Mine runs at 1425 it's the Creusen slow speed from Axminster. Will try to get some pics tomorrow and of the tool edge straight off the wheel.

Well you can't argue with the results. Do you think the extra width helps. That grinder is a few quid more. Good idea mounting it to a separate piece of wood by the way. Especially for a shed like mine where space is at a premium it'll be handy to be able to move it around

The width is a benefit with the swept back wings just makes it easier and quicker when using the jig.
