I need a new battery for my ride-on mower, had a quick look on the web and found the battery that I need for £25.95 delivered, but won't be here until Friday. Me being impatient coupled with Mrs Egg going past our local'ish dealers this morning I asked her to pop in and see if they had got one. Mrs Egg rang me from the dealers and said yeah they've got one exactly the same as the one that is on the mower now..... £50!, Now I don't mind paying a little over the odds but there is no way I'm paying almost double for the same battery.

I know dealers have got overheads way above Internet traders but double the money seems a bit rich to me.

There usually good on price.

Tried Vulcan batteries in Cornard.

Vulcan are in the next village over to me, but I fell out with the bloke that owns it a few years ago after he had a pop at Mrs Egg because she'd parked outside is unit when he was expecting a delivery.

Cutting ones nose off to spite ones own face springs to mind.:001_rolleyes:

I do find him a bit of a know it all ?. But batteries a good price.

I used to deal with him. And yes he does know a bit.

Has you say good batteries at a good price.

If he'd have just asked Mrs Egg to move out the way a bit rather than having a pop at her he'd have had my money this morning.
