I was looking at buying one a few months ago what put me off was the width for its size, how do you get on with it.

 

 

How wide as the one you looked at, the one in my pictures is 38" just under a meter, which I thought was reasonable.

If you turn the machine sharply on wet grass yes it will cause damage. A good dry lawn will withstand driving on it for a day after that you will get wear. I generally have plastic boards so I can turn on such as by the truck do a 180 and then back to the pile of wood.
