PortaWraps, Do you all use Hobbs or GRCS?

Though the Porta wrap can take some abuse too.

Don't mind how close the guy on the PortaWrap is,

He was a noob and it was his job, I just wrecked it.

Thanks for all your replys guys. Will compile with the rest of our reasearch to try and get some better instructions produced. Nice to hear you all singing from the same branch.

Like most of the sensible folk unless i need limb control from where im cutting i use a Hobbs block. The new Mk11 is supposed to be an improvement on the last one. GRS is great but does not have the sturdy proven reliability of this great piece of kit.

Ask people in the know these arb salemen would sell there own grandmothers for a few quid. Most have little in the way of real arb experience to back it up!!!

Hello all,

I was just surfing around and found this site. I am one of the co-designers of the fos-8. ISC was licensing the design from us.

Unfortunately dealing with them has been frustrating at best. Part of the original licensing deal was that they used our instruction sheet. Which was laminated and folded up to be stored inside the tube on the device itself. We have been very disappointed to learn that they never printed them. We felt that they were very important to include.

I will attach one of our instruction sheets to this post. Feel free to pass them around to anyone else you know who has one of these devices. Unfortunately I had to shrink the files slightly to upload them on this site. If you want a higher res version, just email me and I will send it too you.

It is also important to know that the design does not require you to use a carabiner to capture the rope. We just added the option for extra security.

If there are any other questions about the design, I'll check back here and am only too happy to answer.
