Husqvarna 365 special

I've recently got an old 365 Special. Compared to my everyday Echo 420 it's bigger, heavier, and altogether less nimble. But for bigger stuff - I'm using a 20" bar - it's absolutely excellent.

 

I just cut firewood with mine, so it's more of a hobbyist point of view than that of a working professional. Seems more than rugged enough, though possibly a bit heavy if you're using it all day every day.

365 is a nice saw, agree with Stubbys comment, also it can be modified to a 372 by grinding the fins from the transfer covers, the only difference (AFAIK) is the 372 has slightly larger piston & bore.

 

There are two versions: 365 special (earlier) & 365 Xtorq being 65 & 70 cc respectively - both are excellent saws. No autotune in the 365xt so no expensive electronics.

 

Pulls a 20" bar very well, havnt tried mine on larger bars but perhaps consider skip chain if used with a 28".

You can fit a 372 top end or a " Big Bore " aftermarket kit but not the simple mod that you can do on the xtorque model .

me too. mine is years old but mint. it's also running a big bore kit which i tink is 72 or 75cc and muff modded. It's wears a 24'' c&b.

That's only possible with the newer X-torq ones, that has the same basic 71cc cylinder as the 372xp X-torq.
