FimblClimb

Anyone else got one?

Just turned up in the post today and seems the thimbles are too small for my rope - blue tongue.

Have to really squeeze the splice to get it through and then the unique id tag won't go through. Even without the id I can't see how it would be possible to install from the ground!

Seems a ridiculous design.

Perhaps you should have started this thread before buying.

Sorry I can't help as I don't have one.

Just had to google what it was as i haven't heard of it....and found this note on treestuffs website

Important Note: the fimblCLIMB was designed for use with a SLAICED termination. Normal spliced or sewn terminations will have a difficult time fitting through the thimbles on the fimblCLIMB.

Excellent !

Lol!

Yes true. But then do we have to research to death every purchase?

Surely a friction saver works with a rope?!?!

Can you install from ground? And yes same as you...didn't want the pulley saver so thought this would be the answer. So do you have the FimblClimb or FimbleSaver?

I've never installed it from the ground , don't see why you couldn't but it's rare to get the final top anchor first go , so I just install it when I get there . Fimblsaver I have . Another good thing about is retrieving it, you don't need to worry about smacking it off a hard standing or rock like the little lightweight alloy pulleys .

Ok cheers mate. 👍

Guess if I did the same, and took off the id tag I could the FimblClimb rather than send back. I'll ponder that

Just use the other end of your rope without the splice.. All good :-)
