Massive live-firing exercise at Otterburn at the minute Matty, before the lambing truce.

Saw them quite vividly on the way up the A9 this evening. Strong green strips going vertically into the sky around Blair Atholl. Will be popping my head out the door before bed to see if the clouds have dissipated.

Do you think with the current cold clear weather this will continue. Always fancied seeing the northern lights and will jump in the car if it looks hopeful. I fancy staying in Ullapool again would that be a good place to see them ?

We've just been driving back from Scotland but saw them feintly even as far down as Thirsk, sat and watched them from the top of Sutton Bank for a while and then took a bit of a detour past Dalby and they were fairly vivid for a couple of minutes.

 

Supposed to be getting strong again in the next 30 min or so but it's gotten really cloudy here now.
