I think people are confusing the discharge "chute" with the in feed "hopper", I think the OP is talking about removing the in feed hopper daily, but I could be wrong???:confused1:

I know I was thinking about the feed hopper, but having re read it I think he's talking about the discharge chute.

That was the impression I had. If it is the discharge side of things then the important factor will be that no one can come into contact with moving parts.

If the discharge is in a "stowed" position the start circuit and "run engine" would need to be disabled with an interlock system.

Also depends how it's held in place.

If it's a single over centre latch, then you need a cut out. But a timber wolf spout is removable with no tools and a single fixing, and has no safety cut out.

If we're talking feed hoppers then a Farmi feed Hopper is two tool less latches to fold up, no cut out.....

And who hasn't bunged a chipper up and run it up with the spout off to clear the blockage?

Hi Guys.

Yes i mean the discharge chute.

As mentioned the timberwolf has no means to prevent the engine from been started anyway. Like said once the blocked chipper has been cleared out spark her up and let it snow chip!

Ive been taking it off daily for the last 10 yrs or so so its not the end of the world but i always like to see if i can make minor improvements to my daily life. save 2 mins a day, 5 days a week then over a year it adds up a bit.

Be nice to be able to quickly fold it down and be done.

Cheers

Guys
