There's been a fair amount of research into muscle recovery after a good work out and drinking milk was found to be one of the best....

There was something on TV a while ago where they tested two Rugby teams. After the game one side had milk and the other had some kind of Sports drink.

Drinking the milk resulted in a 50% shorter muscle recovery time when compared with the sports drink.

Arb work can be quite demanding physically so I'm wondering if anyone else likes a glass of white stuff, or anything else?

cheers, steve

I get in from work do my little bit of training and then have either goats milk or soya milk with a scoop of pea protein with either a whole banana or blueberries all slung in a liquidiser.

Still ache like hell but it tastes nice :)

Interesting. I think it takes about 12 hours (or something like that) for the milk to take good effect.

Would be interesting to find out if you ache a lot more by cutting the milk out (for a week).

If you fancy that challenge!

How can a glass of milk work better than anything else?....

Were any other blind tests conducted?.. maybe just being asked to drink milk after a match brought on a placebo effect..

Milk might be good for you, but is it any better than a glass of wine... or beer if you like that, to sooth aches and pains?...

I doubt it.... Placebo..

I already done that, hence I have the shake :)

Although I am currently knocking the pea protein out of the shake for a week to see if it really makes a difference.

It's most likely the protein in the milk, which is used in muscle repair.

No, they did proper medical tests.... not by just asking them how they felt. :laugh1:

Maybe the team that had the milk afterwards were only trying half as hard in the game?😉😉
