I can't stand having a ring, I always get my dealer to cut them off when I collect a new one.

Do you not find that when you throw the saw up, catch the lanyard and the allow the saw to gently slide down, that the ring hurts your hand???

I find the the thicker the webbing, the more it folds and tends not to blow in the wind.

The reecoil isn't really for hanging your saw on its full length. You can do obviously, but it's a long way away.! The coil isn't so much a bungie, more of a shaped coil, there is some spring in it though. (I'm probably making no sense.!!)

Essentially though you are hanging your saw on a harness tool carry and the lanyard wont impede you through lack of length or being too dangly and getting in the way.

I have a small crab on both ends of my saw lanyard (makes switching saws easy) I simply hook the crab onto my carry tool.

me too. Hate those rings. If using them to stow the saw it always hangs too low, and im always worried about catching my fingers in it when it chuck and catch my lanyard to lower the saw.

never been keen on breakaway lanyards, last ones I used were the Cresto saw lanyards which were designed to fail at 200kgs, been using hollowed out Yale/Samson 13mm (for the 200s) and 3 strand New England (for big saws) for years now. I wouldn't advise this for trainee climbers though for obvious reasons.

I like the weaver (I think) bungee lanyard, personally I really like the ring, I catch the layard between the ring and the saw and let it run through my fingers until I reach the ring :)

Hate having a krab on the saw end though. I know someone who had his ground saw on strop in a mewp bucket, put it o the floor and the krab caught over the throttle and sent the saw into full revs around the bucket!
