Anyone tried a panel van for delivering logs?

I went and bought an old 1998 L200 single cab with 47k on it for £850 plus vat; needed a steering box and a bulb to get thru MOT. Sits in the yard all week. Why tie up money in a machine that only does a Saturday morning log round? For me anyway and those have dwindled. When the back rots away, a tipper conversion and 2 cube deliveries in a basic, reliable old tool with a pre-cat, pre-egr, pre-elctronic fuel pump etc engine. It is a lot sweeter than the 2004 one I had, more go in it too.

No been down the trailer rout before. Our lanes and driveways are so narrow around here best to have as small a truck or van as possible. Even the pickup is a bit tight some of the places I go.

I was in somewhere last night off a narrow lane with a wall on the far side, luckily I only took my 8 foot trailer, the 10 footer would not have gone in without moving a lot of cars.

Trawling the net now for something along those lines. Any good second hand Toyota dealers down here?

but pref 4wd...

No 2nd hand hilux is cheap; pointless imo. I went smashing around some woods in an even older L200 with over 300000 on the clock the other day; fair one.

Remember this can take a lot of the guesswork out:

These always hold their money because they were so good on fuel:
