I really wouldn't like to say! David Humphries would definetly know! :biggrin:

 

Hard to say as so many factors dictate the growth rate but I would hazard a guess of anything between 500and 800 years old. :001_smile:

Excellent thread.

 

As may be apparent, I have a particular liking for elms. Here are a few of my favourites - all remarkable for still being alive. The ones in the first three pictures are all well over 100ft. The fourth is on Marylebone high street.

Great shots Alec, are the twins the ones we've been speaking about?

No David, the third shot (the bare ones) are on the same site but I didn't put any pictures up of the specific trees we've been speaking about as they are extremely difficult to photograph with only an iPhone due to the location.
