Hi Matt,

ATV or Quad won't be any good in this area. I tried it a few years ago and found the lack of weight meant traction is a problem over 250kg, and forget hills both up and down.

I settled on this in the end all in about £30k, it won't make you a millionaire and is not a stand alone business but working alongside other crews and resources it can make a difference on certain jobs.

Hope this information helps.

Was that your outfit working on the NT land at Holford recently?

Wendelspanswick, yes we were there doing bits and bobs for NT. Weather was not on our side for most of it but it looks good now.

The problem I find is moving it from site to site as its to long to go on a trailer as one unit but if you load the fowarder trailer up first you can't in load it the other end unless there is a loader or some sort, and same the other way other then that good machine

I'm the other side up on suffolk/ Norfolk border.

I either move site with two trailers which can be a pain but ok if it's for a good amount of work or a friendly farmer has moved it with his tractor and low loader trailer.

Matt.

Of your on the quantocks, well west somerset area! You know as well as me there is a distinct lack of flat woodland, and the end of the day you need something which is effective, yet safe!

That eBay dumper looks good, but I was thinking a 2.5 tonner so it could be trailered?

I own the woodland and meadows on the right as you go up to the pond, I had a nosey at your kit while it was parked up and I was very impressed, quality machinery!
