Low impact woodland management

The problem I find is moving it from site to site as its to long to go on a trailer as one unit but if you load the fowarder trailer up first you can't in load it the other end unless there is a loader or some sort, and same the other way other then that good machine

 

Used to have the same problem when we ran the Kubota and trailer. We'd take the tractor first and were fortunate enough to have another tractor to load the trailer with but it definitely became a chore and at times made it prohibitively expensive on small jobs.

 

The only way I could see round it without resorting to a lorry of some sort was to run one of the alpines with a 40k box and road it about.

To go with the 3pl crane I got a trailer built up that has all the bolsters and axle sliding along a central spine (my mate dan pat pending!). You can shove all the bolsters to the end and then put the hitch end and spine under the alpine so it all fits on a 14ft ifor. Obviously not as capable as a forwarding trailer with driven wheels, but not got stuck yet

The 7.11m should take an alpine and forestry trailer in one trip?

 

Actually I just checked the length of AGT850 + trailer and it still does not fit. Hmmm someone should invent a double decker trailer!

40kph Not for the faint hearted especially if you have twin steer!

The other thought I had was to get a transit with a beaver tail and move it with the tractor on that and the trailer on a trailer but then the transit would only be used for that.

CHC we'll have to meet up. Got some great extras on my trailer to show off..... Have you plenty of work or do you sub out...?

 

 

Yes sounds good will have to at some point. I'm getting there not had the kit a year yet but I do sub out as well
