Chipper question

I also thought of doing this if I ever needed to keep the chipper at my house, as it would just fit down the side but obviously not accessible with a vehicle!

You might need to check the battery. All that is required on a chipper battery is to start, if you start using it to shift it with motormover it could drain it quicker

 

 

Could you not start the chipper while moving to stop battery drain as there must be an alternator on it

An 8 inch Bearcat turntable chipper. I'd start de enjun on the chipper and let her idle as i used the caravan mover to get into position thus saving the 'juice' .

The alternator would charge the battery as fast as the motor would drain it, so you could well still end up with a flat battery.

 

An additional battery would probably be best.

You guys are skimming on an important issue but maybe avoidable depending how much power is used.

 

Caravans are fitted with leisure batteries, these are designed to be fully charged and fully discharged. Unlike a normal battery on an engine, it's designed to give high power for a short time but can be knackered if flattened.

 

If the motor mover is only used for say 20% of the charge of the battery it may cope ok but not regularly near flattened.

just run it on fast tickover ,if its a tw shouldnt be an issue ,not like follk are going to be moving it for miles is it
