Not sure, think it may be the clutch. Took the power head off and turned the (solid square) drive shaft by hand and the spline on the 'business end' rotates freely.

 

Carefully inserted the drive shaft back into the PH and tightened.

 

Rev it and nothing rotates.

 

Yes sounds like clutch, should be easy enough to fix

 

 

I bought the 53cc stiga strimmer a few weeks back, it seems alright. The auto feed head it comes with is no use as it wears through the line at the eyelet. Also the guard and line trimmer knife don't allow you to run a very long line, considering the size of the machine

cheaply made got 2, 1, under the bench soon to be in the skip :thumbdown:

 

Got 2 been used basically daily for a year and have had no issues other than the black cap.

The only niggling thing I find when doing blade work for new fencing is the av always seems loose and not in touch but vibes are never a problem with this set up :thumbup:
