Tree id

Hi, can anyone help with identifying this tree? Very dead and multi-stemmed. Beautiful firewood, but hoped to make some nice stuff with some of it.

Initial thought was Sycamore or Ash.

Elm seems to grow for upto 20yrs then DED gets it then it regenerates, causing the multi stems. I chop a lot for firewood. It's standing seasoned wood if you fell it at the right time, too early and its waterlogged.

yep, defo ELM, look for telltale insect activity...

Super firewood and easy split. We dry the branches in the bottom left aga oven. Makes the best of kindling.
