Body building price

Just finished building mine, me and my dad did it. He did the welding of the steel frame and I did the rest. Got all the materials from service metals. Including the tool box (which was second hand) it cost me £1300 and I thought that was expensive. I couldn't justify £3000!

This is what I used 25mm x200mm aluminium planks

Yer it's a cabstar, I think they do build body's as well as supply materials. Absolute brilliant company to deal with. As I've never built or used the materials before they happily let me in the warehouse to look at what they had.

Its nearly 10 grand for the body alone, bear in mind the truck is around 24 grand, thats nearly half the price of the van itself!

 

I read it as 5800 for body & box without the hood, you could probley get them down a bit and lose the hood lights etc 5k ish is more realistic 10k tottley over the top
