357 xp dead? or fixable

We have a job lot of these chassis and other bits currently listed on Ebay, that would sort your problem but you have to buy the lot

 

Your box of bits is making good money........anyone got a 357 for spares,just need a good crankcase.i will have a go fixing it ,but going for a 550 too just in case

I was watching the box of 357 bits but it went past my comfort zone :blushing:

I have a small pile of tired 357xp`s ( my favourite small saw by a long chalk :thumbup1: ) I am going to attempt to resurrect a couple of them which brings me to the question of piston/barrel kits. There are a few different kits out there, some are 46mm and others 47mm bore. Are the 47mm ones a big bore kit with a power advantage or is there nothing in it ?

I would use the originals unless they are badly scored through broken ring or circlip. Other than that, the Meteor kits are probably the best!

What I was getting at Spud was this kit here does both the 357 and 359

HUSQVARNA 359 357XP CYLINDER AND PISTON ASSEMBLY 47MM WITH GASKETS & BEARING NEW | eBay

Its probably crap and I will take your advice and go for the meteor barrel/piston set but wondered if the bigger 47mm bore is a worthwhile gain.
