£250-300 first saw for logging and general garden work

Thanks for that not sure I'll have much time to buy anything for a month or to as we are expected a new arrival to the household any day and I'm sure the other half will have other things in mind for me to be buying like nappies 😭. Just trying to work out where my money will be best spent on a saw don't like to just jump in and buy first thing that comes to mind ie husky or stihl. As I know in my job as a land rover mechanic it dosent pay to buy certain items that may seem the obvious choice

My money would be on the echo or dolmar, they are solid reliable saws, of that there is no doubt.

 

Consider using Aspen 2 fuel if you are a part time user, laying the saw up for any length of time, a search on here will bring the fuel up, it has a 5 year shelf life, and is a more consistent fuel.

I m sorry to bore you all but I have a similar question and I m interested in the echo 550 So is it any good have heard they are hard to set up on the carb ? Thanks

 

Dealers have the new CS501sx in, it's a more modern design than the 550 and just as powerful :)
