Common problem on the discovery box as above mentioned it is the plastic Bush that the gear lever fits in swelling when the box warms up new ones are cheap and make the world of difference

I run it again tonight with the stop switch disconnected to rule that out exactly the same twenty minutes then stop but it is chewing up the mess well

Looks like some have points and later ones don't so will need to have a good look when I get time bit I am still thinking coil in the back of my head

I haven't looked but if points and condenser were easy enough to get hold of I would change them as well as the coil if I can get one of those aswell. I also had plenty of problems with coils playing up on cars I had a mini for my first car and there were still few cars about with them when I learnt my trade in the garage

Hi Andrew it is a pull start machine I will upload a photo when I work out how. it has got a yellow petrol tank on it I am using top quality hatherliegh fuel so can't be that 😂. I will also be in touch sometime about a saw I still not got round to that I've had lots of other stuff to sort out and the garden been getting out hand out there in wilds

Did take the carb off and blow it all our before even trying to start it when first got hold of it and drained the old fuel out. I was thinking along the lines of coil breaking down when hot but will have to investigate further when I get chance

Hi all I have a flail mower with the above engine it has been sat for years and I've got it going but it only runs for about twenty minutes then cuts out and won't restart. If I leave for about an hour it will go again I have changed the plug and that has made no difference I've not had chance to check if it's loosing spark or is fuel related and probably won't get chance to look till the weekend was just wondering what people's thoughts were. Thanks

Handbrake is only a problem if it is not serviced regularly and adjusted correctly. All parts are available at good prices advanced factors is your best place for parts they are spot on for any thing you need

I am a landrover mechanic so work on these alot they are great vehicles but are expensive to look after but what can you expect from a truck that weighs that much and can do every thing you throw at it. I would look for one after 2008 as there have been oil pump failures on earlier ones and the electrical gremlins were sorted by then. Don't get a manual one as the clutches are made of cheese and if you get auto make sure you have gearbox oil changed or even better megaflushed. You will not be dissapointed if you get one but be under no illusions it won't be cheap to keep. There are diagnostic tools available for not silly money so no need to keep going to the dealers for fault codes. If you got any more questions just ask

You can drill the rivets out and clean it all up this does not always work though if it is to bad in there. I think new ones are silly money now they didn't used to be to bad

I have just managed to get my hands on one of these that has been sat for several years it is all good apart from the cables seeing better days I've managed to get them all to move but thinking maybe new ones be better so any idea where the best place to try and get hold of some thanks
