Which one would you recommend?

My guess would be that most of you do it manually but with so many options out there at reasonable prices thought I'd get myself one.

So any recommendations from you guys?

Cheers.

The best chainsaw sharpener is a round file and the ability to use it. Master a skill that you will have forever.

I have the hand files and know how to use them ( though I'm no master) and would probably still do hand-filing from time to time just looks a lot quicker and easier with one of these sharpeners.

Absolutely! Get yourself a little magnifying glass so you can check while your learning. It's all about the corner. Merry Christmas to you all on this great site, especially Mr Bullman!

I have one of the Lidl bench mounted electric sharpeners, doesn't get used very often & when it does it is only used on the longer chain loops.

My own sharpening is done by hand with a round file but I do have a couple of Stihl easy files as they are idiotproof & I got sick of certain groundies I employ passing up blunt saws when I asked them to give them a quick sharpen.

Take heed of Treequip and Dinosaw, bench grinders have their place but don't compare with a quick sharpen in the field with a file. Little and often unless you've dinged the chain on a stone.

Also you'll burn your way through more chains with a bench grinder
