I've cheated a bit, behind me is the mother of all Danish swamps.

 

When you walk on the sphagnum islands, it's like being on a raft. Luckily it's freezing over, so a combination of frozen swamp and crafty bridges should see work continue........snow on the way, so I'll be looking at taking a large Poplar down and staying on higher ground for the meantime.

Absolutely awful for firewood. It soaks up the moisture like sprung. Just put about 3 tons on the bonfire as I can't be bothered to wait for it to dry and need the space.

 

Very good fire wood . As said before MUST be kept dry . :001_smile:
