I think what you have gained in storage capacity you will loose in time getting it out efficiently.

You could always knock out the cubicles and high step and raise the entry height at the door.

I did that for a farmer a few months back, not that big a job if you have the usual farm machinery around and your own hole to fill onsite.

Think I'll lose the metal cubicle separators so the entire length is on the base where the coos used to stand

The high step I don't mind as the wood is above ground level but the drawback is a very limited turning circle hence skidsteer.

Don t know if you've had one but I'm not the most mechanically minded and have a limit of about 5 k so second hand is way to go

I've got an old case 1845 5ft skidsteer only managed to put logs in the barn one year when had no hay in but was bliss could load a landrover hicap in literally 2 minutes.

Mine was cheap, £2k 15 years ago, it was always breaking down underneath and like you I couldn't fix stuff so sold it.

There will ever the right 1 somewhere, it's trying to find it

I drove a Thomas skid steer donkeys years back when I worked on a sheep farm for a bit. Great fun, although going from one end of the yard to the other in it just to make the brews was probably not the best use of cherry!

Had a thought maybe a wee compact tractor with loader think that might suit me, probably easier to fix etc must be less complicated running gear ?

This cost 5k with only 50 hrs on. 24hp with loader.

Was a bit of a bargain admittedly. I resold it very quickly for a quick buck.

I have had loaders on tractors but find them too slow and cumbersome. The other benefit with bobcat is you can move the bucket or forks from side to side. The quick release system means you can have loads of attachments and leave your tractor attached to the processor.
