  1. Tattie box tart it up , good size sturdy last for ever Done
  2. hi I'm looKing to buy a wee forklift gas/diesel/leccy not really fussy Doesn't need to be fancy or bonny as long as it starts and runs and can lift a bag of logs will be used in shed on concrete. Pm me if you hear of any one. Cheers
  3. You've cracked it One day!! Thanks for input
  4. That's the business!!! Do you then load bags,tipper , trailer ?
  5. Mmmmm lotta money to plough into a part time business but I hate things that break down / don't work so may have to think again or take a deep breath and spend some cash. Thanks again
  6. Thanks for that think I'll start looking in earnest but they do appear to be hard to get a hold of on the second hand market Get a decent one for 5 k?
  7. Bigger Can I ask have you had any issues mechanically and how old is it, I take it you are on concrete mostly and no issues with lack of reach Ta
  8. That loader looks bit to big for my space plus I am like a coo with a gun when it comes to mechanics, along the right line though Cheers
  9. Thanks everybody for your input, jus trying to automate the whole process to cut down on handling.lots of options the tractor would have a better reach than a skidsteer but not the turning circle Decisions!!!
  10. Genesteve, yep fair point but my processor is a petrol driven mobile thingy, only need bobcat/tractor to load etc and not run anything else. Hiring one might be an option. The tractor in the picture looks about right though. Again size is a real issue, as usual.
  11. Had a thought maybe a wee compact tractor with loader think that might suit me, probably easier to fix etc must be less complicated running gear ?
  12. Think I'll lose the metal cubicle separators so the entire length is on the base where the coos used to stand The high step I don't mind as the wood is above ground level but the drawback is a very limited turning circle hence skidsteer. Don t know if you've had one but I'm not the most mechanically minded and have a limit of about 5 k so second hand is way to go
  13. Loose backed up against the wall at back of pens to a height of about 10 ft then to about 4 ft at front held back by pallets Great airflow as cow shed part of another 5 hay storage barns Concrete floor so no issues re churning up mud etc
  14. Yep tractor would be good but my shed set up is limited in width to about10 ft the bobcat turning on its self is the appeal My shed is an old cattle shed with wood piles where the cows used to stand on either side of the main drag as it were is about 10 inch step down
  15. currentLy a one man band doing firewood, stored in barn in piles. Hand balling loads approx 100 per year looking at buying a wee Skidsteer to ease loading etc Just looking for views issues are it'll be standing idle for a lot of the time Any one in same boat and taken the plunge. Cheers Plus they look great fun to drive about.
  16. Thanks I'll give them a call Cheers
  17. just bought myself a road towable processor, don't really want to keep it in drive of house. Looking to keep it at yard in an open barn but it's not the most secure. I can lock gate chain to ground anchor and lock wheels etc I'm looking to insure it against theft damage etc, looked on web can't find anyone who will insure this Is it doable ? Anyone had to do this ? any ideas ? Cheers

  19. Howdo Ben I've the electric powered version this takes the place of chainsawing billets up, saves loads of hassle , safer , quicker, less maintenance. As for build quality can't really comment as nothing to compare it to never had a saw bench before. But it hasn't broken yet and I've had it for 18 months Mines is a 700 m tungsten tipped blade, mind you I only put soft wood through it so I should last forever Cheers
  20. I'm the same do about 100 cube per year , one man band, used to do the chainsaw thing, bought an oxdale saw bench, should have done it years ago. I don't do arb waste so , yep see the point of rowan above could be expensive.... Worth a punt I'd say if no good always sellable.
  21. Hardwood s aptly named, bloody hard to get in any worthwhile quantity. I burn and sell dry softwood all the time and regulars come back for more. Sure sell hardwood if you've got it if not sell the soft stuff
  22. I'm in the same boat, one man band, bought an oxdale saw bench , saved a lot of sawing well worth the money. Should've done it ages ago.
  23. Steve You got that sorted less handling, less hassle Thanks for the photo
  24. Must admit the load handler looks a good bit of kit. Think it might be an option, don't know how fidlley it would be might be worth a punt Cheers
