Can anyone remember what on earth trees have got to do with Christmas?

Evergreen foliage gives the hope of new life come spring, used to be Holly, Yew and Ivy foliage not whole trees.

Pagan symbol of ever lasting like even in the midst of bleak winter months thought to bring good luck if brought indoors and decorated. Taken on by the early Christian faith as a sign of christ being born amidst winter so adopting the old traditional ideas with a new meaning.

I cut last years Xmas tree off the top of a 3 storey Spruce tree.... chopped it down with a Silky Saw because I didn't own a chainsaw back then.

It wasn't until I felled it that I realised I chose a tree with twin leaders, so we had two fairies!
