Trying to sharpen this chain. ( Picco Micro 3 (PM3), 1/4" P 1.1 mm )

Everything so tiny, the file is 3.2 mm

 

 

I wasn't quite happy with my result on this chain . So on with the new.

It needs to be cutting at its finest, i've got a MEWP ordered for four trees.

Do you guys stick with the recommended angles? I seem to go slightly more square than the recommended, firstly out of bad habit, now because I've got it in my head that it makes for a slightly more robust cutter..

 

Plus I always sharpen with a guide, don't know what I would do without one!

i always lower angle 4 or 5 degrees still cuts as good stronger cutter and last longer lol

I'm not perfect myself, but there's no hook on that tooth.

I think something like this should be better

Its not filed with a round file, its a square ground chain, which you dont want a "hook" on.
