Can anyone recommend a tyre inflator that runs on both 12v DC and mains AC?

Hi all

As the title. I'm looking for a decent compressor, to inflate tyres, air beds etc. But it would be good if it could be powered from the mains to avoid flattening a car battery / having to run the engine when there is access to a mains socket.

Can anyone recommend one? I don't really want to mess around with separate AC - DC converters.

This pump looks good [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/HEAVY-DUTY-TYRE-COMPRESSOR-INFLATOR-140PSI/dp/B005ERFIWE/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t]HEAVY-DUTY CAR TYRE AIR COMPRESSOR INFLATOR 12V 140PSI: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41P9ydzWX1L.@@AMEPARAM@@41P9ydzWX1L[/ame] but it's 12V DC only.

Any suggestions? Cheers.

Yep, it doesn't seem to be easy! Don't really want to have to get two compressors if I can avoid it. Maybe I can live with a 12DC option only.

The ones on that website look good, but a bit hardcore for my needs I think. Cheers though.

Mainly for tyres, yes (and topping up rather than inflating from flat). Possibly the odd air mattress when camping etc.

Realistically, it probably wouldn't be used often - so I don't want to chuck a whole load of money at it.
