It's a shame as most of it gets disposed of on a bonfire, people even fussy about conifer Woodchip as well

It just needs seasoning. The reason for the avoidance of conifer woodchip is the resin. It can stick chip to sensors and stop the feed transport. I normally try to keep it a couple of years before chipping to minimise this problem.

If I need to get my Rayburn hot then leylandii works well.

Now that's how to ask fair play to you sir.

:thumbup1::thumbup1: I will be looking for wood in the near future, I know its been said that I would be doing them a favour by removing the wood from site and saving them a job. but that's not how I look at it, they are doing ME a favour and I would be willing to pay for it.

i got a couple loads conifer off an arbtalk member for free couple years ago, beers were offered! instead he put me in touch with a local guy who had tractor and timber trailer to haul the 16 tons or so back here for a fee.

so i gladly paid his price in cash cause too much to go ring up and haul back here myself.

was i happy for all that conifer - ooooooohhhhh yeah!!!!

i will never understand folks who wont take conifer!
