Hydro shift was a bad thing and expensive when went wrong. Did you buy it on ebay

1210 and 1410 were manuals the 1212 and 1412 hydra shift

Engines good, then it went downhill

Having grown up with 6 David Browns around me and everyone that my Dad bought was a manual box because the fitters always told him to stay clear of them , even the sales man said the sane thing .

They are a absolute pig to fix .

As above, Hydroshift best avoided...

Engines good, then it went downhill

 

I rebuilt one, skimmed the block, head and pistons then a few years later the crank cracked. Engine was good for me as it payed my mortgage for a month or so. Still going now though. Hydro shift was trouble free. Just shows they all vary
