Excellent post, particularly in not falling into the trap of identifying Muslims in general with ISIS/IS or whatever the media is calling them today. :thumbup1:

ISIS have declared war on France and the West in general. It's about time the "moderate Muslims" condemned ISIS a little bit more.

tbh, if they don't start to condemn ISIS (and tell the authorities about the terrorists in their community) they will have to be considered as part of the enemy.

You display a total ignorance of the strategic aim, the tactical significance and the moral obligation of the Falklands campaign.

In so doing you also seem hell bent on rubbishing the determination, grit and resolve of those charged with reclaiming the Islands and ignoring the rights of the residents of those islands who sought protection from an invading dictatorship state.

For someone who claims to despise the media so much you also seem keen enough to utilise the very same media slurs ("milk snatcher") and misinformation you claim to be so passionately opposed to.

Does this indicate an inconsistency in your drivel or does it simply demonstrate your willingness to suckle at the teat of the socialist media whilst discarding anything that isn't published by the red press?

There is some merit in the comparison of the political will that existed in '82 and was applied to the FI campaign as related to the IS scenario of today.

Wether ARA Belgrano was heading towards or away from the exclusion zone in '82 is irrelevant. It was a significant military asset with the capability to effect damage in the vicinity of a conflict. What do you think they were there for - whale watching?

It's that kind of single minded determination that is needed to contain, control and eliminate the global influence of IS and all it's constituent parts.

Those that don't have the stomach for it can curl up in the corner and contemplate the consequences of submission to their new faith whilst someone else fixes the problem.

Look Kev

you might think I know nothing about some strategic aim moral obligation or what have you, but I can tell you I know about all that sort of thing...

Just haven't the time to go into it all..

And, read my lips... Its the fact Thatcher lied to me, lied to you, lied to the British electorate..

in doing so, she was showing her contempt for all of us...

What about motive, why lie?.....to hide her shame... sinking a ship that was on its way home..

The woman was despicable..

On it's way home or going into battle, we were at WAR, it wasn't a rugby match where fair play is all. It was a heavily armed warship, the clue is in the name, it wasn't a hospital ship. it would have been fully capable of turning around and coming back and engaging our forces. Christ on a cycle what planet are you on?

Hitlers Waffen SS divisions would relish taking on Isis.

Irrelevant I know but...

Christ on a bike!

Can't believe we're getting misty eyed about the Waffen SS. That lot make ISIS look like school boys! I've been to the death camps in Poland and they'll make a grown man go weak at the knees.

Get the thread back on track and less 'Daily Mail' type rhetoric on a Sunday morning !

On the upside. Jhiadi John got topped this week. 👍

Well, maybe it's just not coming across that way, or maybe my crypto is not sync'd with yours?

You may think she lied (I'm assuming we're focussing on the Belgrano point) but my perspective would be that it was a necessary, logical and righteous act in the context of the conflict to authorise the sinking.

How the facts were relayed to the British public is a consequence of being shackled by liberal criticism and frontline media in conflict areas.

You may view it in contemptuous terms, I salute the single minded determination to achieve the political objective through military means.

That's leadership.

I was very fortunate to have met, had a long chat and dinner with Sir Bernard Ingham in 2005. I can take from that a good deal more insight and understanding of the person Margaret Thatcher than would ever be available from a portion of the media which seeks to demonise her at any cost.

I was also in the FIs '83 and on several later occasions. Have you met any FI residents and do you think they'd share your view?

Getting back on thread was my original point but since being shouted down by the ukippers this has gone from 'standing with you France' to the SS, Mossad via the Falklands, oh and don't forget the political mud slinging......extremist views, no matter the flavour will always find a home when people use tragedy to peddle their own home grown views.
